Victoria Spring
Affiliated PhD Student, 2017
I am a Psychology Ph.D. student at the Pennsylvania State University, working with Daryl Cameron. I previously received my M.A. in Psychology at the University of Iowa, and my B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For the 2016-2017 academic year, I am performing research in the Emotion Lab at KI as part of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide Program.
I am broadly interested in empathy, particularly how empathy is constructed as the product of domain-general ingredients such as affect and conceptualization. I am also interested in computational modeling of empathy, and how factors such as motivation and group dynamics encourage us to approach or avoid empathy.
