Simon Jangard

PhD Student

Clinical Psychologist

I started my PhD in January 2019, as a collaboration between Emotion lab and the Addiction research group at Centre for Psychiatry Research. I received my M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology at Karolinska Institutet in 2017, and my clinical licensure in 2018. I also hold B.A. in Philosophy from Uppsala University.

I have interest in the learning and decision-making mechanisms underlying social-interactive behavior such as moral and prosocial behavior. Specifically I try to understand how these mechanisms might be impaired in clinical patient groups such as those suffering from addictive disorders.

The long term aim of my research is to identify individual markers and develop measures of social impairments which might be used as preventive measures as well as psychotherapeutic and pharmacological targets of treatment. To meet these aims, I am using a multi-method approach including behavioral experiments, computational modeling, neuroimaging, and clinical trials.

Please feel free to contact me if you want to know more about my research or discuss future collaborations.
